Lumiappaday #88: iLOL’d Demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800

iLOL’d is a similar app to theCHIVE that we mentioned the other day in the fact that it gathers funny pictures, but it does so by collecting them from a few of the popular funny pic sites, such as ‘damnyouautocorrect’ or ‘lol-cats’.

You can browse the top pics or the recent ones from the individual blogs. Each pic can then later be favourited and viewed in your favourites panel (in the usual gliding Metro Pano). This is a just for fun app, a nice little pick me up from the humorous pics available. It’s free (ad supported). It is as usual, fast, fluid, stable etc. The only niggle for me is that unlike say, theCHIVE, swiping between photos didn’t always work for some reason. It’s odd because the first few swipes are registered fine and then I need to do it twice for the 6th, 7th etc. :S

* now shows more popular items, because those are cool.

* new popular items and favorites now show the original blog they came from (as if you care)

* you can now see how many popular items and favorites there are, as you go through them

 

10 january – v1.2

* app icon now flips when pinned

* app remembers what item you were viewing for a particular blog, and picks up where you left of instead of at the beginning (as long as the app is running)

* random mode works better now, and actually takes you to the first random image that was retrieved, rather than just appending it to the list of images to show next

* updated some of the description/subject strings when sharing to be more about the content and less about the iLOL’d app

* sharing to facebook now allows [enter] character in the status update
