Rumours: Nokia Carla/Donna will work on the 1GHz Belle phones, perhaps not the older S^3 first gen (e.g. N8)

General Nokia/Symbian insider, dsmobile has been commenting on Ali’s post about the Nokia Carla bug report.

dsmobile said yesterday that S^3 hardware is incompatible with Carla. Note, S^3 is just the 680MHz batch like the N8, C6-01, E7, C7, X7, E6.

However, the newer 1GHz Belle devices can move on up to Carla and possibly Donna. Makes sense, there’s only so much you can stretch that 680MHz (which technically belonged more to 2009, assisted greatly by the GPU).

On the N8 successor, it has the same 3.9″ screen like the N9, BUT is only nHD. :S Is it curved like the N9? We were told a while ago (early January)  that the edges of that screen was curved.

On the OS designation:

It could possibly work with hacking though you could possibly expect an experience not as nice as the hardware it was designed for.
