We had a written review yesterday of Nokia Belle on the Nokia 500. It was of quite some interest for me due to the possible limitations in its hardware that was thought might hinder its performance. But it seems it’s ok (though I am hearing complaints on issues such as playing 3D games).

Below are a couple of quick videos to show Belle in action on the Nokia 500. The first says it was updated through Nokia Suite.

There are essentially 3 different levels of Nokia Belle performances. Nokia 701 range (latest CPU/GPU), Nokia N8 range (First gen S^3 hardware) and 500 (with just CPU though at 1GHz). Performances then will vary on whether the handset came with Belle, was updated on fresh handset or updated on handset that has had some prior use. For best performance in an update, I have read from several readers recommending to reset the whole phone. That’s up to you if you are willing to lose some data. Not sure how much a back up will be able to restore.

Notice how nice Belle can be on the more ‘up to date’ hardware.
