Video: Sony Xperia S vs Nokia N8 (samples)

The aging BOSS of camera phones from 2010, Nokia N8 is compared another newcomer trying to take the crown.

The verdict from the last comparison was quite controversial. Overall I’m still siding with the Nokia N8. How can you be an overall camera phone without a decent Xenon flash? I wasn’t impressed by the video quality on either sample. At least from the N8 I have seen significantly better than this. Here, there’s a lot of blurring and ghosting and off focus that I have not experienced with the N8 before. Audio for me is superior on the N8 (though I’m not sure if we compare both against loud sounds – N8 oddly has trouble whereas the likes of N9/N900 don’t)

I think it’s great that other companies are taking imaging more seriously. If they make it an important feature that customers should look out for, then Nokia’s N8 successor is going to be all that more important, no? Because, as we’ve said before, it WILL whoop all the asses. It would be awesome if it was, say, in the N9/MeeGo with swipe so there’s a fuller smartphone experience as opposed to being more camera with phone features. Having said that, Belle is a marvellous improvement over S^3 vanilla.
