$160 Lumia coming to China Telecom, 3 new handsets between March and April

China, the world’s biggest smartphone market is preparing for the launch of Nokia’s Lumia phones. One such is reported to be at a much more affordable $160 unlocked but will still have option for subsidies.

Between March and April, China Telecom will have 3 new handsets, one being a CMDA Nokia Lumia 800. At MWC we heard that the Lumia 610 would also most likely make an appearance, but with another lumia aimed at $160, it appears there’s going to be an even stronger push to lower prices.

I’ve seen a fair few comments asking for smaller screened Lumias – surprising for a budget device the Lumia 610 has a 3.7″ display! Perhaps a smaller form factor (along with all the Tango revisions) will bring the price even lower. Recalling from memory from past news, the ultimate goal is sub $100 but it won’t go too far below that – Nokia will have other platforms for the very low end though there would be some overlap between the lowest Lumia and the highest (whatever).
