Lumiappaday #118: Portals 2D demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800

Armed with a Portal Gun in this 2D environment you have to solve the various puzzles in order to reach the goal. The game looks awesome, the controls are very easy to use (and the first few levels act as tutorials in how to use them). I was also impressed with the level selector where you have a rolling carousel of each levels to which when clicked just zooms in on that level.

Although it’s named 2D, your view is somewhat of a 3D aerial view.  Very well made game, super fun, super challenging, brain teaser.

#118) Portals

Price: £1.29/$1.49 (with try before you buy option)

Can you think with portals? Open a gateway to a new and exciting type of game, this Portal-inspired platformer will test your portal-toting, cake loving avatar in a world where even your existence is tested. Beautiful HD graphics, wonderful sounds, ingenious gameplay, and silky smooth animations make this game a must have.

Now you’re thinking with portals.

Update 1.2: Fixed some bugs, added robots, doors, buttons and grinders, improved graphics, added more levels, tweaked controls.

Rating:

Design: 10

Looks awesome. Sounds awesome. Well laid out. Level selector is neat.

Usability: 10

(I would like to have a level select button when pressing “back” That’s just me being picky. Normally if you’re playing a game, you would just ascend from one level to the next anyway, without the need to select different levels.)

Performance: 10

Not encountered any bugs, resumes instantly.

Price: 10

Excellent price for such a well made app. Highly recommended that you give Portals 2D a go.
