Update: Nokia focusing on phones, but keeps eye out for tablets

Yesterday we heard that Nokia tablets may appear in Q4 2012. There have been rumours already that such tablets have made their way to Russia (just tweets by ElMu, so nothing substantial). SlashGear updated that store with a statement from Nokia:

Update: Nokia has issued the following statement on the tablet rumors: “We continue to eye the tablet space with interest, but we have not announced any specific plans.”

That phrase seems to be their standard line regarding tablets. It seems quite clear they need to get in the tablet space but they seem to want to focus getting one thing right first at a time, and that involves focusing on their phones.

Ali reminds us that

“Like I said; the guys at MWC said don’t worry your heads with tablets right now; we’re focusing on phones till we get back on top” – Ali
