Viber confirms working on version for Symbian
Viber are once again confirming that they are working on a version of their app for Nokia, specifically for Symbian.
It seems they have staff scouring the web asking if Viber is coming as their response always seems to be exactly the same. The most recent news comes from Talk.Maemo.Org, confirming it would be coming, though later correcting that it is specifically just for Symbian.
Our representative who posted in this forum confused it with a Nokia Symbian forum. Our response here that Viber for Nokia is under development referred to Symbian devices, and unfortunately not to Maemo devices.
At this stage Viber for Maemo is still not under development unfortunately
We still don’t know when we will have news regarding this issue, but if we do, we will publish it officially in our Facebook page.

And this was posted last year. so at least we know they are still making it.
It’s been confirmed a long time now, for Symbian, Blackberry, WP7 and there is still nothing.
Good news – a quality video calling piece of software, something Symbian is lacking, apart from Fring.
Skype seem to have missed the boat long ago and I can’t ever see them enabling video calling for Symbian now. Their loss. Viber is on the up.
I have been using Fring on my N82 without problems. But it keeps crashing my N8 with Belle.
It didn’t crash on my N8 Belle. But the interface is somehow not fluid or compatible with Belle.
Well.. it is never truly compatible with Belle right?
I’m guessing no specific Maemo/Meego version, but Meltemi could be likely once it comes out.
Great news! My officemate was teasing about his Viber app on Iphone. Now I get to use that as well hehe!
