Video: Ants and Nokia N8/701

I saw a couple of Nokia Ant related things today so I thought I’d share them. First up is a video by none other than  . This has the usual macro lens attached to get even closer than usual.

Next is an even closer look at an ant. Shot, surprisingly by a Nokia 701. I thought N8 seeing as it was on the N8 fan page at facebook but the guy who uploaded it says it’s 701 with macro lens. Now the N8 possibly could have pulled off some close macro on its own as it has continuous AF that can reach to macro levels (remember those snails?). But the Nokia 701 is EDoF, so close up with that fancy bokeh is not something you see often, unless you stick an extra lens.

Nokia fans have been pushing their Nokia cameras to the limit. Having the raw capabilities and potential to take good shots is important for those that want to take advantage of getting high quality photos on their phone. Imagine what we’ll soon be seeing appearing from the Nokia 808! In a bright enough setting, the 808 without additional lenses might be able to ‘zoom’ in so close as to get fine details from ants. I look forward to seeing if that would be possible.
