A couple days ago we posted about some leaked screenshots of a new TV app coming to Lumia phones; Nokia Conversations has just officially confirmed that this Nokia TV app will enable  users to stream popular TV Channels/Programs onto their mobile phones, completely free of charge and without any sign-up!

When the service launches, users of Lumia smartphones in Finland will be able to conveniently browse or search through the available catalogues of catch-up TV services from major local broadcasters and then stream a chosen show directly to their phone – without any sign up or registration.

The app will first be available for Finland and is expected to come to other countries later on. As a side note I think this is where Nokia are really doing a great job, pushing their Media front (now that they have Zune/Nokia Music on Lumias) as well Nokia Reading with Mix radio all lumia devices can basically double out as Media players if needed (not a bad idea; maybe a dedicated Nokia iPod thingy??- Didn’t Samsung do something similar with the Galaxy S?).

VIA Thanks to Justin B. For the tip 😉
