Juicy: Nokia 808 PureView Internal/Disassembly pictures and full 137page manual as it passes FCC
The Nokia 808 PureView has passed FCC which means internal/disassembly photos and a full manual! Enjoy
Here’s that 41MP Sensor all naked like.
We saw a manual the other day but we did not it wasn’t the full one. Here seems to be the complete 137 page manual. I’d love to read the whole thing right now but I have revision deadlines to meet.
Please feel free to comment if you find anything of interest. The manual may answer questions that current Nokia pages can’t answer at the moment

Thanks st7761 for the heads up!

Hardware is beautiful- No OS showing for people to complain about… Just scientific perfection.
It looks very ‘meh’ in the manual, but photos look wonderful.

Paul Grenfell :
I do hope you get your Nokia 808 PV. I’m working on something with our country distributor. I hope it will open windows (pun intended) where doors are being shut.
Woooooo she’s damn hot . Sammy’s s3 will get nice orgasms after watching her
thanks for the pics
+1
I actually hope that the 808 will trump the SGS 3, given how the latter’s design look rather ordinary compared to the former (I admit that I didn’t like its renders at first but after seeing it on video, it looks good).
As for its camera, I agree.
My goodness! Someone bring me a glass of water! :-p~
Direct FCC link is suck.
You can use below link.

Thanks! Downloaded and reading.
Well as I know this is Symbian device so it will work perfectly.
Already tried Nokia 701 and I was amazed! I got a stock SAM GT-S5830 (my wife’s phone) and did a side-by-side comparison. Nokia 701 blew it away, specially in Offline mode, LOL! (you know what I mean
)
Probably the pictures made by the device will be clearer that the pictures of the device itself…
O!M!F!G!
2 capacitors on 1 Xenon flash module?
“wow”
Wow. Really strong stuff. I guess they were not kidding after all.
good observation
&
now we know y nokia said
it has twice the power of n8 flash
I just realized that the 808 has no dedicated power button.
This is awesome. It seems like there are more cooling shields in the N8 than in the 808…
The xenon power is crazy. There is just no way around the “hump” if you want to do it right.
Wait. Something doesn’t quite add up in my shall American brain…..
Why would this device have to pass FCC inspection if it’s not going to be sold in the North American market? Isn’t that shithead organization ours and ours alone?
I was asking myself the same silly question, and I think it might be because 3rd party retailers still have to import the device, so it needs to comply with FCC to be imported. I can’t think of any other explanation
I see. Ya, the 603 went through FCC too, yet is not on the US nokia site.
Went and got my hopes up.
FCC only means it can be used in the US. Nothing more.
Elop doesn’t want Nokia to make any non-Microsoft money.
The definition of a SUPERPHONE!!!!!!!
geek p0rn
I want one BAD!! Justifying the purchase is the hard part. As many pictures and videos as i take, my N8 is servicing me well. I know the 808 is exponentially better, N8² if you will. I’ll have to wait until the hype wears off and importers aren’t trying to scalp these 808s. These won’t sell for even retail here. Assholes will be charging a for massive profit like they did with PS3s
We will do what we can to avoid that. I may be going stateside soon, but that is not for certain. I have my country distributor here and we are discussing some arrangements. Should they not cooperate, I have other contacts in other countries. We can probably bring the Nokia 808 PV stateside at lesser cost.
I hope that I can see a real 808 in my hands.
One of the first things I will try is the “Creative” shooting mode.
The user guide didn’t describe what it means.
Just “go fully manual” !
That can means a lot !
I’m looking forward
Still cannot tell if it uses a micro sim card or regular sim. Does the manual indicate which one?
micro sim, the manual says:
“Important: This device is designed to be used with a mini-UICC SIM card, also known as a micro-SIM card only. A micro-SIM card is smaller than the standard SIM card. Use of incompatible SIM cards may damage the card or the device, and may corrupt data stored on the card.”
“Do not shine the flashlight in anyone’s eyes”
I believe it’s worth mentioning in the manual it states, “KEEP YOUR DEVICE DRY
Your device is not water-resistant. Keep it dry.”
I guess no nano-coating in the 808.

Why did they blank out the processor?
Cause Nokia is ashamed of the fact that they are still on ARM11 (*sarcasm*)
The simple fact that they have honed the ARM11 architecture and brought it so far for so long is a real testament of their R&D. Symbian’s kernel will only run on ARM architecture as well. Both something of a diamond in the rough……or a polished turd. Well, i’ll eat shit before I leave Symbian or what ever it evolves to. I’ve been made a believer, and I’ll follow it like so many jews followed their prophets. Quiet a leap of faith for an Atheist!!
I’m sure Symbian runs on SHMobile processors as well. No idea as to whether this ever offered any performance advantages over ARM, or if they are still being developed. I suspect they may have been much better at floating point calculations if they were closely related to SH-4 and SH-5, but usually GPUs and co-processors take care of weaknesses here.
They don’t want to disclose the type of gpu they use. The gpu in this device is recently developed and super samples 1 billion pixels per second. They don’t wan’t competitors getting that information. They have no need to hide the arm 11 because they already told everyone about that on day one.
I believe the camera DSP is separate from the Broadcom 2763 GPU. What I don’t understand is why I can’t find any info about what CPU is in there, other than that it’s a 1.3ghz ARM11. No manufacturer information and it’s the same with the 603, 700 and 701.
Zymo, Thanks for the info.
you’re welcome!
American Nokia user :
I honestly do hope you get your Nokia 808 PV. Show them what it can do.
