Nokia 808 PureView coming soon to Finland on Contract at DNA

One of the top three operators in Finland, DNA, is said to be stocking the Nokia 808 PureView soon. Actually it apparently says it’s on sale now :/ I can’t find anything on their website yet.

DNA’s prices are apparently 23EUR/24m or 45EUR/12M. Not sure if there is a translation error but the ‘subsidised’ price is 552EUR on 24m and 540EUR on 12M. That’s already more than the price we’ve seen for the Nokia 808 in UAE and India.

Update: Due to me rushing, I misinterpreted the values given. They just multitplied the length of the contract by the price per month, thus coming up with 23*24=552 and 45*12=540. This kinda suggests the phone is ‘free’ on contract. A SIM Free price is yet to be mentioned but I’d expect it to be around 450 EUR.

Update 2: Hang on I may not fully understand this still. Jonne in the comments said:

As others have already pointed out, phones are SIM-free in Finland. So in order to take the Nokia 808 Pureview via DNA, you’ll need a cellular package via them, but you can choose whatever package you want. The phone will just add 23€ a month to that price.
So if you have a DNA Joustava 200 package, which is 9.90€ a month, then you’d pay 9.90€ + 23€ a month for 24 months. You can choose to pay the phone immediately, but still make a contract for 24 months. This would mean that you pay 552€ immediately, and then pay 9.90€ every month for the DNA Joustava 200. Joustava 200 again includes 200 minutes or messages. 1 message is worth 1 minute, so you could either send 200 messages or call for 200 minutes, or anything in between

New to me. I’m only aware of three systems (SIM Free, Pay and Go, Contract – one of payment for the phone, sometimes nothing and then monthly line rental. I’ve not encountered a system where you pay for the phone bit by bit AND a line – though they kinda work out the same as the line rental is cheap enough)

Thanks Jonne for the tip!
