Nokia 808 PureView hands on from the Philippines

| May 19, 2012 | 24 Replies

Here’s an interesting hands on of the Nokia 808 PureView – interesting because apparently it was in the Philippines. There is no sign yet of the 808 at Nokia Philippines. Hopefully this is just the first of the 808s heading to the Philippine market.

I got a chance to play with a prototype Nokia 808 Pureview at the Nokia Lumianation event at the Bonifacio Amphitheatre. The Nokia 808 Pureview has 41 megapixel camera with a very very large sensor for a mobile phone. And yes folks, the quality of the images were great.

Another crappy video. It isn’t so hard to shoot proper videos. People really should learn some basics before shooting videos. What’s the use of having high quality HD video camera, if you can’t even shoot videos properly? I’m just so fed up with this worse than amateurish crap that YouTube is filled with. /end rant

Hi Beelzebozo. I’m the one who took the video. I just used a Micro 4/3 camera (Olympus E-PL1 to be exact. The cam isn’t great at autofocus). There aren’t enough light too at the area. I don’t have a tripod that time too. Had a hard time focusing on the phone because It was dark and my cam is too heavy for my right hand. Sorry.

      • I’m happy to just see the video … i say good job :)

When you can’t be on location and see these events in person, it’s so great other people make videos so I can take part of the event in a way anyway..

…the “professional” big media names sure don’t give out any good videos

Hey thank you so much for sharing this video. It somehow confirms the availability of pureview in the Philippines soon enough!

    • raaar says:

you’re just bitter because you haven’t tried one yet. do you understand that it was just taken on an event for a Nokia Lumia launch? It wasn’t meant as a formal video complete with all the professional gadgetry to film it. It was just taken as an afterthought because they saw someone was using it. stupid ass… /end rant

What’s a pureviee prototype doing in a lumia event? Haha still good signs though

It’s a shame if Nokia won’t release the “last” Symbian superphone to their strongest markets, so I assume, just like Russia and India, this would be released in the Philippines as well. :-) Engadget reported that the device is heading to the U.S. too.

great now all thats left is the loooong wait

  9. Myke says:

I can’t wait for this. . .but that music on the video, its FFX’s blitzball game lol

  10. Chris_Skylock says:

how did you borrow that phone? Ive been looking at the Nokia 808 PureView and it’s just 4 feet away from me. I couldve done my own hands on, too, but Im too shy as it might be top secret from the event. I took some stolen shots, instead. Nyahahahaha

I´ll buy a Nokia 808 PureView when released, then I´m going to give my Galaxy Note to my Wife. The 808 is the computer of the moment :)
