Nokia 808 PureView available at Nokia Italy?
Filing this under ouch. The Nokia 808 PureView is priced at Nokia Italy, SIM Free at 599 EUROS. Approx 480GBP.

That’s a little more expensive than what we’ve heard for UAE.
The price is listed at the same retailer we saw back in April. We had expected the price to come down a bit, like in UAE, but it seems to have stayed put in Italy.

I expect it to be released for not more than 499€ including taxes and stuff SIM free in Germany. Anything more combined with Nokia’s attitude towards their own customers is unbearable!
Look at the picture, it is a RETAILER setting the price.
It has been confirmed by Nokia Italia live event that both 900 and 808 will cost 599
808 will be available in Italy from June

I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna be available on contract in my country (Ireland) and this price point puts it well out of my reach so I guess I’ll just have to wait till Nokia introduce pureview to their WP lineup – just hope that comes sooner rather than later.
I believe the 808 is possibly the best Nokia phone ever produced, yet not only is it not going to be released Globally, it is yet only available outright and sim free. At this stage, not one carrier will be stocking it on a Plan. That is like cutting its market potential to less than a third.. Thats deliberate sabotage..
It’s available for preorder in Sweden with contract (from 0 EUR), 600 EUR w/o contract. Guess it will be down to 500 in Q3.
How many times to you want me to reply to you Paul? it’s the damn carriers that are rejecting it. Remember they were squemish about the lumia line because it was too expensive, and they are started rejecting symbian devices since 2010. The only symbian devices carriers in europe want is the more cheap affordable ones like the 603 or 700. I see them all the time here on tv ads with cheap prices being offered if you get a new contract A 400 euro nokia symbina device as carrier subsidized phone on contract will never see the light of day in Europe now. Nokia can’t do anything about it. They can only sell them to retailers and let them make the final price for an unlocked phone. It’s just the way things are. The sad truth
And i respectfully disagree with you..I cannot believe that no Carriers in the World are going to stock the 808 on Plans.. It must therefore be a Nokia Decision.
Paul, at least in Finland the operators are giving 808 with service plans. If you don’t count Finland as a part of the World, then it is a different thing, of course
808 is priced for 549 for some places in Finland and also available for 499 in Germany.
Though like always with Nokia’s, i’m sure you can find it even for 700 euroa if you want. Best place to start looking those high prices is usually those Nokia’s “official” retailers still alive on some countries, like in Italy.
What camera can I buy at that price that can do all that? I’ve been looking but can’t find it.
New to the market Nikon V1 or J1 10.1 mp camera is $650 usd.

Well they are still thinking how to screw us more in India. 30K everyone seemed happy. So now they say 32K.
They will release it for higher and say it didnt sell even in india.
The N8 was such a hit in India and it was priced perfectly at 23K.

Wasn’t Nokia talking about 450 euros before taxes? If you add just the VAT (23%), it’s already at 550 euros.
it’s for 420 EUROS (GBP 338) here in Saudi Arabia
