Videos: Nokia Lumia 610 and Lumia 900 TV ads!

| June 13, 2012 | 15 Replies

Nokia just uploaded this TV advert for the Nokia Lumia 610 to their channel. It reminds me of the video I saw earlier for the Nokia Lumia 900 by Nokia Denmark.

It’s a good approach. Tiles is something specific for Lumia/WP and it’s a good idea to show off something that you don’t have on iOS/Android/Symbian.

I’m not saying tiles are immediately better, it’s just that it’s better to show off something that is more unique to your range of products.

With the continuation of tiles in WP8 and the Lumia tiles branding, Tile based W8 and Xbox might see more acceptance to this type of homescreen.

It’s the same style focusing on the lumia close up designs and the live tiles.

Why are the live tiles on the Lumia 900 ad at 0:14 jiggles as if it was an iOS device? :P

Btw, Nokia 808 PureView is now available in the Philippines. Official SRP as said by Nokia is P26,590. I’ve got hands-on photos and comparisons too. Feel free to share. :D http://www.misterjonjon.com/2012/06/nokia-808-pureview-now-ready-to-capture.html

I like these ads! I really wish we could have these cool ads, as well as the Amazing Everyday ads, here in the U.S. – they have great soundtracks and visuals.

That is a pretty good ad that that captures the “aliveness” of Windows Phone and the beautifully different Lumia’s.

Great ad for the Lumia 610. I like that “bam off it goes”, similar to the belle phones. The share to facebook and twitter at the same time icon that I love. Hope nokia adds that to the lumia phones as I use that a lot on my belle device.

The Lumia 900 in that ad is white… I wonder why the stores at my hometown only have stock for the black one. Don’t know why other colours are not available yet as I’ve read that other places in Malaysia have different colours.

Earlier this year, we learned of T-Mobile’s plans not to go ahead with upgrading its infrastructure to support 84Mbps HSPA+, and instead focus its efforts on developing an LTE network. With Sprint planning to offer service this summer, that puts T-Mobile in a distant fourth among the big guys for its progress towards launching such a network; just where is it in the process, and when can we hope to see T-Mobile LTE up-and-running?

The carrier posted an update on its blog today, detailing some of its progress in upgrading its network. Before LTE even gets here, we’ll see more and more T-Mobile 3G coverage on 1900MHz, beyond the 1700MHz we’re used to from the company. That’s going to give subscribers access to phones that might not have previously been an option, including iPhone models. Right now, this is still in a limited testing phase, but T-Mobile expects to launch 1900MHz service in a significant number of markets before the end of the year.

LTE is also currently in limited testing, but this isn’t the same old LTE we’re familiar with already; T-Mobile is planning to build its network with 3GPP Release 10 standards in mind, setting it up to support even higher-speed data. The first trials of T-Mobiles use of that technology will take place this summer, and if all goes well, the carrier hopes to publicly launch its LTE service sometime in 2013.
