Here are 5 QML demoes of Qt 5 apps demoed by the Qt Blog.

  •  Calqlatr
  • SameGame
  • Maroon in trouble
  • TweetSearch
  • StocQt
These apps demonstrate a range of new visual features: Shader effects, animated sprites, the new particle system and the imperative canvas API.

  1. Banderpop says:

Since Meltemi is gone, will QT5 come to Symbian after all?

If not, it does rather look like the only phones that will benefit from QT5 will not be Nokia ones.

    • Shriek says:

Yes i doubt any Nokia phone right now in market will utilize QT5.

      On another note… JollaMobile…..

    • Ebon & Unicorn N9s says:

Qt 5 won’t officially come to any of the mobile platforms (not sure about BB10). There might be a community build for Qt 5 on Harmattan.

  2. Jurgis says:

Great job by Trolls, shame, that Nokia will not benefit from that. I hope BB10 and Jolla will use it.

  3. reptile says:

Wow, I’ve seen samegame, but I’ve never seen Maroon In Trouble. Looks really fun!

  4. rustyknight17 says:

I`m a bit puzzled , if WP doesn`t support Qt , why does Nokia continue to work on it ? Meego`s gone , as is Meltemi , seemingly .
But there is Nokia , which I believe currently uses Qt 4.8 . It`s not impossible that Belle could use Qt 5 ..

    • arts says:

Obviously the evil nazi of doom wants to waste nokia’s money, just like how belle was launched even though Symbian was dead, just like how meego was dead and yet the n9 was launched.

    • gordonH says:

The CEO will play out his chess move killing QT.

    • anonymouse says:

Qt is actually a success outside Nokia. Well, it also was a success inside (until you know when). And finally, Qt5 does not support Symbian, that’s been widely known for a long time.

      • rustyknight17 says:

Yes , there r persistant rumours to that effect , but I’ve just researched this and the Qt labs people have made it clear that any OS that currently supports Qt 4.8.1 will also support Qt5 . That includes Nokia Belle .
The issue here is that Nokia is refusing to put Qt5 on Belle at this time ( Or rather they were back in April . ) But as WP doesn’t support Qt and AFAIK neither will WP8 , the only logical reason for Nokia to be currently working on Qt is to keep Belle current , which makes sense when u think about it , as WP hasn’t exactly taken off as yet , unless , of course , Nokia’s planning to ressurect Meltemi …

        • Jurgis says:

All the official information states, that Qt5 will not be available for Symbian. I think it’s logical, as Symbian has no future. It is hard to believe, that this could change.

          • jiipee says:

Nokia’s been kicking out C++ devs from their developer programs. That sounds like the EOL of Symbian is being finalized, only critical updates will follow. The Nokia Store will be most probably closed down soon as mentioned in the early Strategy releasess early 2011.

          • rustyknight17 says:

No , what the qt labs people stated was that Nokia was , in April , refusing to put Qt5 on Belle . Logigcal , yes , but why then is Nokia continuing to work on it ?Symbian , no future ? That depends on what happens between now and 2016 . Namely , if WP8 takes off , because WP7 and 7.5 certainly haven`t … Besides , Elop said that if Symbian continues to be profitable , it will be continued . And don`t forget , Belle is every bit the equal of iOS or Android and it`s not jhust me saying that , even phonearena and Engaget , known for their anti Symbian bias agree ..

  5. sdfg says:

More things from Nokia are… being wasted. R.I.P.

  6. Emin says:

    Jolla will use it [2]

  7. Glear says:

New S40 might bring Qt apps on it.
    Thats the only possibility now.

  8. rustyknight17 says:

Maybe Glear but as I understand it , that would require major rewriting of s40 code . In that case , why not ressurect Meltemi ?
