It seems the red one is the special color for the 808. It hasn’t been released in many of the markets where the other 2 colors are available and even in markets where they have released it, it is asking for a 10-20% premium over the other 2. Check this for e.g.: http://negrielectronics.com/phones/smart-phones-c-5.html#os=nokia_belle&gan_data=true

I’m waiting for the red one to be released in India so that I can ask a friend to pick up one for me (808 is very cheaply priced in India compared to others).

  2. bbb says:

where can we get red 808? no red one in Singapore

    • Ebon & Unicorn N9s says:

The red one is available only in select market for now and is priced more than the others as well. I’m eagerly waiting for the red one.

  3. bbb says:

    why selected market?

  4. dss says:

I think only Amazon offers US warranty.. which for me is worth the extra cash

  5. bbb says:

when is the exact time of nokia announcing q2 result?

  6. brr says:

why is it so difficult to find accessories for this phone

  7. reptile says:

At the middle of the Amazon page, there’s this link for “tell us about a lower price”. I did it. Wonder how long I have to wait to see it fall a bit..

  8. MontyN95 says:

If one of the accesssories include a replacement back cover, then I guess we may as well buy a black one now and replace the back cover with a red one (Once it’s available)

  9. gaurav says:

good for those waiting to buy it

surprisingly though at the current conversion rate dollar/rupee

unlocked version is priced slightly lower in india

    easily available online

surprise coz usually gadgets are costlier here than in usa

at the current rate 1 dollar = rs 54
    about 80 dollars cheaper

i am not associated with the online retailer
i ve posted the link just for discussion

i also went through the reviews there and its got a good 4 star rating/5 based on 330 ratings

lack of advertisement…is keeping back sales
also people automatically assume that more powerful hardware more RAM = better phone so new android phones
    have a lead

the app store is def a big selling point for android

nokia still enjoys a good standing in india
but now having abandoned symbian its efforts (if any) seem confused
personally i own an n8 and e5 and love them

It’s at least $100 USD too expensive. I’ve got an Android now, and am unhappy with it. I’ll not go with Windows Phone since that would be even worse, but I would like an 808. Still, I’m not going to spend $700 USD on a phone. I’d strongly consider it and probably impulse buy it at $500.
