Mega Avatars is a free app from one of my favourite developers, MMMOOO (famous on Symbian for their skins).

With Mega Avatars, you can customise an avatar face – their skin, hair, eyes, eyebrows, lips, clothing and accessories. You can then save and set it as an avatar for your various networks. I like using it on the people tiles for folks that might not be on twitter/facebook and thus don’t have automated thumbnails (optionally I could take a photo but this allows me to customise even further what their tile looks like).

Also available for N9 and Symbian: http://store.ovi.com/content/301243

Want to create your own cartoon avatar or make a avatar for your friends?

Create and customize an avatar to look just like you or anyone you want it to be! Choose your eyes, hair and your go-to outfit. Then throw in a few accessories, such as your earrings or yoga mat. Feel like you need a change? That’s just fine. Edit your avatar anytime to match your mood or style. Have fun with thousands of different looks, right at your fingertips.

When you’re done, save it, share it, set it as your SNS: Facebook, Twitter picture or some Instant Message avatar then make another one.
