Free Purity HD when you buy Lumia 800 or 900 between Aug. 15 & Sept. 30 in Australia

Just got emailed from PR about a deal that Nokia Australia are hosting. It is the same kind of deal that has been popping up around the world. In Australia, the headphones are about AUD$250, so you’re getting a pretty good deal.

When you buy your device, you go simply go to http://www.lumiamonster.com.au/ and enter the details.

Here is the press release I received:

Sydney, Australia – 15 August 2012. Today, Nokia is launching an exciting promotion giving Aussie music lovers the chance to get their hands on a free Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset by Monster – worth $249 – with Nokia Lumia 800 or 900 purchases between 15th August – 30th September 2012.

The Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset, the first in a line of top quality headsets from Nokia’s partnership with Monster, has a contemporary design and produces great sound quality.  The headset comes with an on-cable remote which acts as both a mic and also media control for the phone.

To add to that, you get all the features you’d expect from Monster’s premium range of headphones: tangle-free wires, removable cable and a hard carry case to store them.

Lumia smartphone owners can also use their headset to enjoy Nokia Music and other services such as Mix Radio, which stream hours of music for free.  There’s also Gigfinder that lets you search for local music events, share your discoveries using SMS, email or social networks and buy concert tickets online.

The Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset comes in black, white, cyan and magenta colours to match the Lumia smartphones.

For more information on the promotion visit nokia.com.au or consumers can redeem the offer at http://www.lumiamonster.com.au before 15th October 2012.

From what I’ve seen, Mobicity are the cheapest retailers (only available online) and have the Lumia 900 and Lumia 800 priced at AUD$469 and AUD$ 359/$489 (check which version works for your carrier) respectively.

why lumia instead of n9 or 808?

Promotion often means the stuff is not selling well.

You’ll also be getting a free “I’m an idiot” sticker you can stick to your forehead.

First of all, who buys a Nokia nowadays?
    Who buys a Windows Phone?
Who buys a Nokia Windows Phone that is obsolete?

There is currently a better offer here in Germany. If you buy the lumia 900 online at Amazon.de (Price 420€) you get a discount of 50€ (Voucher code: 9MT9ET5K). Additionally Nokia Germany is offering you a “cash-back” of 50€ after the registration of your lumia 900. So at the end the Lumia 900 will cost you just 320€.

i’d buy with an option to upgrade to the WP8 model when it comes out. What ever the subsidized price difference is. So, like , upgrade would be 150 bucks. That would be a fair deal I think.
