There’s tons of videos of people trying to play the Nokia tune on YouTube. I thought this was was pretty cool as it was a joint effort, between a father and son over two pianos.

Alexander Zlatkovski is a pianist, but his son Ariel never wanted to learn how to play until he heard his dad playing the Nokia tune - Francisco Tarrega’s “Grand Waltz/Valse”. Ariel loved the tune and learned to play it completely by ear and even spiced it up by adding ‘Skater’s Watlz’ to the beginning.

New ringtone anyone :p?

This video started out as a joke. My son Ariel, now 19, has lived with pianos – and a pianist father – all his life, but never wanted to learn to play. Then, a couple of years ago, he overheard me practicing Francisco Tarrega’s “Grand Waltz” – the source of the famous Nokia ringtone. He loved the melody and learned to play it by ear. Later, he added the beginning bars of Waldteufel’s “Skaters Waltz” to the tune, and played this hybrid to his heart’s content.

One day I decided to join him. Here is the result…
