Full Moon pics with the Nokia 808 PureView
Faisal baset emailed us on Friday to share some stunning pictures he took of the moon using a telescope. This was a cropped image taken from the 808.
Hi, I just took a photo of tonight’s full moon with my Nokia 808 Pureview and an astronomical telescope D=50mm, F=350mm + K12mm Field 48 lens. I think it is worth sharing in your website.
His whole flickr Gallery is worth taking a look at.

Cheers Faisal baset for the tip.

Ive been able take moon shots similar, without any additional lens, but its very difficult.. I used infinity, 50 iso, -4 exposure, Nd filter, and external adjustable polarising filter.. Though i can get the moon exposure right, i cant get the definition clear enough. Ive tried 2mp to 34mp..but to no avail
Nice pics!
I love photography, so an 808 would be a dream phone. I think phones will reach an ideal standard, and the need to upgrade will become less, just as with laptop computers. As people keep their phones longer, it is important to continue the upgrades in software through the years and some up to date apps. I am not app centric, but I would like Spotify if I bought an 808. Now I have to wait and see what else Nokia is coming out with before I buy an 808 on Amazon
i wouldnt mind a 3x optical zoom attachment like iphones. I wonder if they would work ok?.. Dont want el-cheapos though.
Well no point waiting for another 41mp, because its not gonna happen.
Ive got a few brilliant zoom lenses from my old slr, which are just going to waste.. Only way i can use them on the 808 is via the viewfinder,,
pity someone hasnt made an adapter to reuse these lenses on smartphones.
Ooops, they have , but not cheap..
I can’t wait for some mnb London pictures.
Hey, since the Surface is only wi-fi could we see the coffee tab with 3g-4g? Please bring a cyan or yellow tablet Nokia.
My brother and I were just talking about this last night when there was a beautiful cream colored full moon above us. He was using his cheap DLSR and couldn’t get it right and he said I need to get the 808 sooner
Shame that you need an extra telescope. Anyone have samples of what it looks like without a telescope? Maybe it’ll be adequate..
