Nokia, AT&T and Green Day join forces for Nokia Music launch event in NYC

The popular brand GreenDay (I personally haven’t ever listened to them) are set to kick off Nokia Music in the US on Sept. 15th with a debut of their latest Album (even -though you can get Nokia Music RIGHT NOW). The band is set to play in sponsorship by Nokia and At&t at Irving Plaza in New York City on the 15th of September, you can win tickets by competing in the usual sharing/spreading the word on facebook in the link down Below:

So who do you guys rather have release a Nokia product Niki Minaj (for the 900) or Greenday? Or do you have someone else in mind who could properly represent Nokia?

*Note: At&ts continued partnership with Nokia is a strong sign that the Lumia 920 or the 820 (possibly both?) will be headed towards them. Personally I’m hoping for some Verizon action as well; maybe a Lipstick Red Lumia 920 to match their Big Red Logo?

never listened green day? go outside and get a life :)

      • M says:

You realize that listening to music and going outside are not mutually exclusive activities, right? :)

Btw I grew listening to Green Day. Its as though they kinda of disappeared for a couple years or so or took an extended break, but I think they’re partnering with Nokia and at&t for the release of their new album.

wake me up when September ends

like my father’s come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when September ends

    here comes the rain again
    falling from the stars
    drenched in my pain again
    becoming who we are

    as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when September ends

Cannot believe you never listened to Greenday!! Maybe you did hear a song or 2 of theirs playing on the Radio before but never knew it was them!

  6. rishabh says:

    greenday is great.
But if it was METALLICA then they would have a blast. I dont any band can beat the number of fan they have.
My personal favourite would be linkin park, pitbull, the prodigy, criss brown, eminem, ac dc, pink floyd.

  7. Jo says:

Ah, the blending of smartphones and music, what a great thread!

Greenday are fantastic, and their fans are entirely different to those of Niki, and will pay strong attention to anything they endorse. This is a good move! We can just hope they give the 920 some good exposure as well, in addition to Nokia Music.

  8. MOr says:

Tiesto is huge in the US (and the world) with the young. A partnership with him or another great DJ would be a great idea.

  9. Phil E. Phenau says:

If you want it to sell like hotcakes.. Taylor Swift! She has a huge fanbase.

  10. bharat says:

How awesome would it be to hear a modified American idiot..this time it can be I am a Canadian Idiot. you know who that is.

  11. JGrove303 says:

Right now, if you want to push sales in the US by tagging you productto “music,” get Skrillex to endorse it. I friggin’ hate dubstep, but his brand of “Wubba Wubba” is top 40 and you hear everyone from 15-50 listening to his stuff.

  12. atom says:

No one wants to pick up their phone and see that photo, no matter how bad their taste in music is.

  13. N9 says:

Sadly green day has allot to do with Nokia. They used to be big……now they are mostly dead.

  14. sunnyvale says:

Hi Ali, you have a typo at the beginning. It says” brand” instead of band.

And how come you’ve never heard any song from Green Day? They have some very popular hits like Boulevard of Broken Dreams, American Idiot, they even are featured on one of U2′s top songs named The Saints are Coming. Look for it. It’s good stuff.

  15. spunk says:

Basket Case,When I Come Around……..aah..brings back a lot of memories

  16. H.R.C. says:

Green day and Nokia are coming back in big style!I love them both and hope to hear them from my Nokia asap!

  17. JGrove303 says:

might as well sign The Offspring , too.

  18. Sonny says:

out of all the current bands linkin park has the most likes of facebook. Only rihanna, eminem, lady gaga and justin bieber has more likes then them so I would love to see nokia partner with them in the future

  19. Bradleyv says:

So Nokia music got created, then got scrapped and now it’s getting launched again? Not a great way to build customer trust.

    • Janne says:

What do you mean? Nokia Music was launched year ago and is now only getting better.

You are confusing it with Comes with Music?

    • twig says:

This is the first time for the U.S. market you can get the fantastic Nokia Music through marketplace or Nokia store. A first for Radio Mix which I was listening to on my Nokia 905i while on a trip today. Free, free, free. The music you want programmed by real people. The money you save buys the phone.
