Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 pass BT4.0 certification.
In early August, the new Lumias were rumoured to come with BT4.0.
Today both the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 are said to have passed BT4.0 certification. BT 4.0 was “a very optimised low energy bluetooth which will become very useful for small devices that need to transfer information over BT (e.g. small health/fitness sensors).”

Nice. Well at least that’s one more feature to level the specs playing field or pummel the competition as it were.
NICE! the only thing still missing here are, lanyard holes.
What does this mean? They will change bluetooth to 4.0 instead of 3.1 as advertised?
Doesn’t have to be.
Remember a similar situation on the N9, last year? Theoretically it had Bluetooth 4, but the software only supported Bluetooth 2.1.
Not theoretically, it was confirmed as certified, but it went dark after that, there’s some in-depth threads at TMO.
There’s nothing to change, at least not hardware-wise. The chips are basically identical, difference is in the software.
The hardware differences in BT4.0 are on the “accessory side” if low-power chips are used.

I like to switch on my 808 Pureview bluetooth all the time especially in public places so that anyone trying to bluejack or use their bluetooth within the 10 meter radius will be aware that “THE” Nokia 808 PureView is just nearby. lol I really feel like I’m the only person in our city who has a Nokia 808 PureView because most people here don’t even know that such camera phone exists my gosh..
N9/950 were actually certified too, but it never saw the light of day, surprise surprise.

Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. Nevertheless think of if you added some great photos or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
