Viber HD Voice Calling Released Exclusively for Lumia Phones
Viber is a popular alternative to Skype and Tango for Voice calls, and runs on the same basis of giving you free calls and texts to anyone using the app (provided they register their phone number). We first heard that the app was coming to Lumia phones a while back and ti seems that earlier today the app hit the marketplace. As you can see from the screenshots above the app gives you the ability to chat and call from within the same application (there is a Viber messenger client available for WP but it doesn’t support VOIP), you can also use hte chat messaging to share images and location.
One of my favorite features is the ability to switch to GSM (normal cellular call) from within the same dailler, for example the person you’re trying to call isn’t answering his Viber so you can try the normal number from the same place. Viber automatically filters your contact list to find those of your contacts whose number’s are registered to a viber account and adds them to the “Viber Contacts List”. The app also supports group chats which would come in handy if you want to share an image with a large number of people, or plan a gathering. All in all Viber is a great app and definitely worth a look it if you have a Lumia device. Get it by scanning the QR Code below:

No voice while Lumia 900 to iphone 4. Time is ticking (connection is ok) only silence in the air and after 5 sec reset
Any news about the improved Symbian version? There are rumours about a future update to support viber calls.. I’m looking forward to it for my 808.
I hav a Lumia 900, u can call but u can’t hear anything. Is it me or others r having the same problem
yep having the same problem as are 2 other friends of mine. on the WPCentral site heaps of people are commenting about calls not working and in the Australian marketplace all reviews are giving it 1 or 2 stars saying they can’t make calls, so something is definitely wrong.

It’s kind of stupid to have it exclusively for Lumias, I can’t use it with my girlfriend….
I’d rather WP just have SIP support baked in.
Microsoft is holding them back and will only let the use the API on lumias thats what it says on the viber blog
