The extra icons are Belle extra buttons app
I believe the extra icons are from an app caled ‘Extra Buttons’, which gives you extra user-definable icons in the bottom bar.
This is such a failed device from nokia
Why? Because you say so?
yes it is a big FAIL because i have used it i can’t live with just 4-5games(now don’t mention java games)
The fact that a Nokia 500 isn’t meant for you doesn’t turn it into “a big FAIL”. Remember; you are getting this phone for free on a cheap plan, or for peanuts if you want prepaid service, and the only thing you’ll get for the same price are Froyo or Eclaire under-specced Android phones and dumbphones. You don’t want to run Asphalt 7 HD in a 320×240 screen, and a dumbphone simply won’t let you.
I would get this if i had to pick between this and its Lumia counterpart
Please Jay.. with all due respect (and I do respect you) Don’t publish anything anymore about Symbian.. It’s dead and deservedly so. Let’s move forward.
it’s not dead until 2016,and its dead when nokia says literally that symbian is dead.

had a 2d gpu i should have moved on to lumias
at least it has internet explorer and super cool
os . I’m really pissed 500 only has 4 playable
symbian games angry birds , rio and seasons
and asphalt 4 hd . Exept that no games are supported raging thunder which works on s60
devices doesn’t run . Exept belle it’s quite
rubbish . Now i use it as a wi fi transmitter
through joikuspot to my droid tab and yes i do
think symbian is dead i too trolled earlier about
lumias but after using belle , windows and android ……………………YESSSSS symbian is dead .
Nokia store hardly has 40 hd games and i’m
really bored from opera & uc my bro has both a
droid tab and lumia 710 both are awesome but
symbian sucks SORRY FOR DOUBLE POST 1ST niche post ho gya
it’s a shame, symbian actually has chance, belle is as smooth as android gingerbread, even with much lower hardware (i’ve compared nokia 700 vs sony xperia u, i own both of them)
Some clarifications.
1. The “Nokia 500 has no GPU” nonsense is false. The Nokia 500 has a crappy GPU, and Anna didn’t have drivers for that GPU (so all rendering was done indeed with only the CPU under Anna). But Belle has support for the GPU, and the lack of screen transitions is simply because in that 500, theme effects are disabled. Maybe it’s time to record a video of my own.
2. There are massive memory optimizations with Belle Refresh. If you dared to enable theme effects under plain Belle, you could be greeted with an “Out of Memory” message. That doesn’t happen under Belle Refresh.
nokia 500 has openvg support and so it can run angry birds thats it . And u leave theme effects on lol yes transitons look a bit nice but lags significantly so i prefer speed over beauty

Asphalt 6, Bejeweled 3 and others work, but somewhat slowly, and -strangely- you have to restart your device after you install them (at least with Belle Refresh)
asphalt 6???? u r talking about that 1mb java game right . and if its an hd one then please tell me where did u get it
it’s not like that i lv my 500 but it’s not that good and yes there are devices for just half price of nokia 500 . Micromax funbook has 7 inch screen and mali400 dual core gpu with droid 4.0 it supports all hd games gta , and all stuff and costs just RS 6000
