Pricings For Lumia Charging Accessories through Clove UK (Order Now)

| October 10, 2012 | 40 Replies

Although we don’t yet have a solid price on either of the WP8 Lumia brothers, Clove UK have begun taking pre-orders for the full set of Charging accessories (minus the JBL Power-up). The pricings are as follows:

Converted into Euros thanks to Harangue
820 Wireless charging shell ~ €25
Wireless Charging Plate ~ €70
Wireless Charging Stand ~ €85
Wireless Charging Pillow by Fatboy ~ €100
JBL Playup ~ €180

The accessories are available for pre-order now, but with no solid delivery date “At the moment we do not have a release date confirmed, but the accessories are expected to be available for the launch of the handsets”.

I’d really like to see how carriers will bundle these accessories alongside the phones, seeing as the right bundle could create a great incentive to buy; especially when properly subsidized. So what’s your Must have accessory?

    For the people on the continent;

    820 Wireless charging shell ~ €25
    Wireless Charging Plate ~ €70
    Wireless Charging Stand ~ €85
Wireless Charging Pillow by Fatboy ~ €100
    JBL Playup ~ €180

All prices calculated from the including VAT price in the UK. So bear in mind that there can be local variations to different percentages in sales tax

  2. stylinred says:

sites like negrielectronics have pre-order prices for the 820 and 920 as well $650 iirc for the 920

the accessories seem too expensive imo

    • Harangue says:

Some are, some aren’t. Just looking at Apple puts some things into perspective. Apple charges €30 for an 30 pin to lightning port adapter. €30 for some problems that they created themselves. €30 for something that shouldn’t cost nearly as much considering what it is.

      • stylinred says:

im putting it in the perspective of what im willing to pay for accessories not comparing them with an outright thief like apple :D lol

definitely buying the charging stand when available, it will look good on my desk or bedside table, oh damn i might end up buying 2.

My pre order from verkkokauppa includes L920+wireless charging plate 2pcs(one for home, one for office)+wireless charging stand (night stand at home and abroad)+wireless fatboy 2pcs (for home)+JBL speakers for home and abroad.

      • Aliqudsi says:

Mind telling me what the full bundle cost you?

      • ms.nokia says:

wow thats allot of extras, i’m jealous :)

        • Anders81 says:

well NOK is tanking in nasdaq so maybe I have to cancel some of the extras :( But still no profit warning so I am safe from some stupid promise I made here some time ago :)

          • ms.nokia says:

nok will bounce back, it’s the new aapl,
it would be fantastically amazing if it has the same recovery apple had when everybody said apple will fail back in 2002.

            • Aliqudsi says:

Fingers Crossed, I’m hoping they pull off a Q3 like Q2 (where peoples expectations are so low that they over-shoot them)- Apparently RIM pulled off the same trick.
Anyways back on topic was Apples stock ever as bad as Nokias is now? even RIM has higher stock prices.

              • Anders81 says:

Q3 is going to be a massacre on D&S but the rest will patch it up better than expected.
Aapl was sure in much worse condition than NOK right now is, so no worries if you are on hold with NOK. I was expecting a better release and some benefits from MS which didn`t happen but the story will unfold 2013 and it looks like to have a happy beginning.

              • ms.nokia says:

maybe not as bad as nokia regarding stock price decline,
apple fell from highs of around $30 to lows of around $6
( less than 1% of the currant aapl price)
nokia fell from around $40 to a dollar and some change :(

i dont know if short sellers where as aggressive back in those days with apple as they have been with nokia’s stock price last few years.

apple had no where near the IP, patents or services that nokia has but managed a turn around with just an ipod and grew from that.

nokia has so much technology etc, and with ms it has access to a much larger market than apple ever did, it can be the next apple, i’ve gambled my future on it.

                • Anders81 says:

Yes, I ment the actual situation of the company, not the price / share. This is now really off topic but shorting aapl has been very good since just after launch of IP5. But who has time to do this stock play during working hours, at least I don`t.

aapl is not or has been the main competitor for NOK, it is samedung with droid and with WP8. Koreans are tough and hard core business men and nobody should underestimate them in any circumstances, within any business field.

I have said it before that if Nokia tomorrow decided to stop smartphone business the stock would skyrocket because of the simple fact that NOK would immediately start to make profit. However that is not the right decision to do, at least for the moment.

I wouldn`t worry too much if I were you, if you can hold on the stock for some time, for eg. 24 months. And since you have taken quite a big risk in investing to NOK (so have I), you should be ready to HOLD, big ships don`t turn fast. It is going to be a shaky ride until it hits 4€, gets credit upgrades, and only after that the palyers will be out played by institutions.

That stand truly is the winner from all the accesories.

BTW; love that pic you have of Bill Gates. Getting arrested for speeding in his new Porsche.

      • ms.nokia says:

yeah i thought it was a fitting profile picture, nokia and ms join in partnership, and bill gates is the punk bride, can you imagine if he went to jail, he would be passed around like currency :)

  4. ognjen23.11 says:

€70 for a charging plate?? seriously?

  5. Bloob says:

Ugh, as usual, Nokia accessories are like 40% too expensive.

    • mister.c. says:

Nokia accessories at Clove are like too expensive. Expect other prices, either as bundles or any other retailer to be a fair chunk cheaper than this after a few weeks of release.

  6. ville says:

Damn. Those seems to be a bit too expensive :( So, with those prices the power up will be approx 199EUR ? :(

and i think that that plain charing plate should be like something 30-35eur MAX.

  7. Stuart says:

Why can’t a 3rd party create wireless charging for other Nokia models that have a removable battery. Is all that is needed is a new backcover with the proper electronics in it? It would be nice for that to be added to existing models–like 808–to add life and value to them. Even if it adds cost, it should be an option to even the higher spec’d Asha devices.

    • Chris says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t 808 only chargeable through the micro usb port? Changing the back cover does not add the required components to charge the battery, unless some modification is done to the phone itself.

On the other hand, maybe we’ll see something cheaper with the Qi standard in the future from 3rd parties.

  8. rudy says:

    The charging stand is gorgeous.

  9. x3nom0rph says:

I heard from Niels Kjelstrup (Nokia Denmark) that charging plate would cost 150 dkk, which is 20 euro. I think that is a fair price. He was interviewed in September and asked about prices.
Compared to 70 euro on Clove, I think I belive him more :-)

  10. Mohammad says:

Damn! these are really really expensive! Nokia is becoming premium like Apple going out of reach of General Nokia users..

  11. Donie says:

Oh the accessories are bloody expensive!

    @Jay

There are offical prices available for the Lumias from Press Nokia as I wrote in MNB/tips:

Seems like I’ll keep charging my phone the good old fashion way… F*ck those prices!

  13. MNhut says:

I was at “Les Numériques factory” today, I got the chance to play with the Lumia 920 and to talk with a Nokia France rep : the Nokia Lumia 920 is going to be available in mid-november in France at a price of 649,90€. The Fatboy pillow is going to cost 80€ !

  14. reebi says:

These prices are way too high. I was thinking of getting a 920 but I’m not so sure now if I’ll have to pay £80 for a charging pillow – and £150 for the speaker when the Play360 is £40-50 cheaper?

What’s up with that? Very disappointing.
