This is a promo video for Nokia’s Lumia 822 that is heading to Verizon.

Nokia has announced its first ever Lumia smartphone for Verizon, the Nokia Lumia 822, which brings together high performance and unique industrial design in an affordable package.

Designed specifically for Verizon’s fast and ubiquitous 4G LTE network, the Nokia Lumia 822 extends the benefits of Lumia to many more U.S. consumers by being on the nation’s largest carrier.

The Lumia 822 is designed for simplicity and ease-of-use, pairing Nokia’s renowned hardware design with Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 operating system, and comes with exclusive Nokia features including Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, and Nokia City Lens.

THE WORST PHONE DESIGN EVVVVEEERRR TO COME OUT OF THE NOKIA LABS!
omg if that’s not a Android rip OFF I don’t know what is!

    That’s it. IM DONE!

Lol the typical canned response from N9 worshipers.

I have to say I agree though. I’m quite annoyed with Nokia not having a single good design yet (admittedly the Lumia 920 is good for someone who only uses their phone in portrait mode, but such a person is quite a rarity).

On a different note, Andy Rubin was talking about why the Nexus 4 didn’t have LTE, and the short take away is that Verizon is a pain in the ass to deal with. So they just don’t sell on Verizon, while Nokia’s willing to put up with the crap. I guess that’s why they give them a shoddy design.

Whats wrong with giving your opinion?

Its a messed up design from an operator who is notorious for shit designs. Everyone is waiting for the 920 and the Nokia U design (N9–>) because its so much better than any phone on Verizon.

The 510 doesn’t look to good (maybe its just the pics) but with the 822, it looks like they took 510 and made it really ugly especially for Verizon.

      • Rinslowe says:

        Whoa, whoa, whoa,

No need to go all GTD on the N9! He’s just one dude.

I guess your response is equally as ignorant…

    • Pedrokas says:

      Its your opinion.
I really love this design.. Way better than current 820.
But its just a matter of tastes.

      Morningstar today about Nokia:

Share price assumption at this moment: 2.40 euro (Nokia share is in Helsinki right now 2.06 euro, in New York 2.56 dollar)

Best scenario (if WP8 phones go well): the stock price will go to about 7.70 euro per share)

Worst scenario: no bankruptcy, because Nokia would be sold in parts before that.
      Estimated price for this: intellectual properties over 1 euro per share;
other business parts (smartphones, featurephones, NSN) at least over 1.50 euro per share.
And NAVTEQ´s price not included (Nokia bought NAVTEQ with about 7 billion euro). All in all even in this case, Nokia share price would be at least over 2.5 euro. Pretty much like my thoughts and analysis.

I am a big Nokia Fan, but this thing looks ridiculously thick. It really doesn’t matter from a usability standpoint … but really, why so thick??
