Video: Nokia Lumia 920 vs Nokia Lumia 900 (OIS test)

| November 19, 2012 | 17 Replies

Here’s a comparison between the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 900 video recording, looking specifically at improvements (if any) by PureView V2 OIS/Floating lens.

This isn’t walking, this is running.

You might also like to check out what the 808 looks like with and without hardware stabilisation for comparison. I’m actually quite amazed the 920 gets that close to a huge apparatus.

OIS works very well for video recording… no other phone comes even close.

  • Folkifoon

Fun vid but is this guy mature? Samdung, Galaxy shit…

    • Muerte

It is his style, has always been, no need to get offended :)

    • Quantom

Lol I thought it was actually pretty funny. Ok maybe it’s the exam stress.

  • Grodelj

Hahaha general the destroyer strikes again:D this guy is funny as hell

  • Quantom

Hmm, doesn’t anyone feel that the OIS imparts a pretty weird wobble to the periphery of the frame? It’s not too obvious here but doesn’t it feel a tad strange?

    • zymo

oops, overlooked your comment. And I thought I was the only one seeing that wobble effect.

  • zymo

I kinda dislike the image quality of the Lumia 920. OIS is doing a great job, you can clearly see the videos are less shaky at all, but the actual image looks somehow “strange” kinda artificial. I also noticed some wobble effect in videos.

    • Quantom

Yeah I think this OIS thing should be more appropriate for images/stills. Of course hat’s off to nokia for fitting it all in such a small frame.

It’s completely wobbly and unnatural. Unusable, even.

    • Muerte

Are you trying to say, that the shaky-as-hell-videos from other phones are more usable?

      • viktor von d.

that’s exactly what he is saying. and that because wp. if it were running linux, like the linux in his name then the picture would be perfect. /sarcasm

    • Pökö

      LoL! Get a life.
