Video & Gallery: Unboxing My Glamorous Red Lumia 920

| December 12, 2012 | 37 Replies

So it Finally reached! My beautiful new Lumia 920, after an agonizing week where it was held by Jordanian customs (those bastards!) I got it through! And it is beautiful! (Are my exclamations marks conveying the level of my excitement to you guys?). Without further ado, onto the obligatory video:

I also made an equally awesome unboxing filmed in Arabic (for those of you that speak it, check it out over here:

And now some picture, but first off some thoughts on the 920:

  • This screen is RIDICULOUS! the touch sensitivity, the scrolling, the refresh rate thanks to PureMotion HD+ (it’s not something you can show on video or describe, but when you use it you’ll notice it)
  • Tiles are pretty big too, which confused me at first seeing how a single “medium size tile” was almost double the size of my Lumia 800s tile
  • The camera is amazing at night; more on that in the future
  • I swear to you it’s not heavy
  • It’s beautiful
  • It’s red.
  • I love it.

    Congratzz Ali
I’m from Bahrain and i got the Yellow one :D

  2. smallnad says:

    But I prefer yellow.

  3. stylinred says:

the red is nicer than i thought (based from other pics) but looks like it would do a lot better being matte
If it were available when I bought my dad one Im pretty sure I would have gone for the red instead

    • Aliqudsi says:

I was all for yellow at first, but the red is amazing, it’s also much rarer (I’m a phone hipster)- matte would be nice seeing how the gloss is a fingerprint magnet.

      • jessy says:

how is the supplied headset ali?

      • incognito says:

Gloss appears to work well only on white – kind of cheapens the looks with all other colors plus is definitely a fingerprint magnet. I do find the red one looking far better than the yellow one, tho. Can’t shake off the feeling of biohazard/under construction when I see the yellow one.

    • Harangue says:

Yeah, the red one should have been matte, that would have really give it a svelte look. Right now it looks (from pictures) a bit cheap. It still is an amazing device, but I find the matte colours (cyan for instance) or the white one give a more exclusive and richer feel. Actually all colors should just have been a matte finish.

      • Viipottaja says:

Not so in real life, IMHO (have the red one :))! The glossy finish also makes it even nicer to hold combined with the super smooth and sensitive screen… I think if it was matte it would actually take away from the tactile feel of it all. :)

        • Just Visiting says:

Agree. I held the red Lumia 920 on a few different occasions at AT&T, and the gloss is perfect, in my opinion.

I choose to purchase a white Lumia 900 a few weeks ago, because I wanted something different, AND the matte black and cyan were slippery to hold. Also, the matte cyan looked dull to me.

    you lucky bastard!

Congratulations, i love the red one! So sexy!
Gorgeous phone, prepare to be envied all over the world ;)

  5. Ruben says:

i think i see a black N9 in the pictures… thinking about selling it Ali?

  6. Ali Abdulla says:

oh look! now we have one thing in common! that microtech furniture mug!

    grats tho :(, /envious :@

  7. Carbontubby says:

I wonder how the matte gray looks like. I personally love the yellow and red ones but they’re a bit shouty when you pull them out in the middle of a meeting… need a more discrete color :)

    الف مبروك

Holy mother of Nokia, you shot those red lumias very unbelievably beautiful!

    Sweet pics :)

  15. Keith too says:

Wow what a beauty. It makes me realize I could go for red if yellow or cyan is not available.

  16. says:

    congratulations :)
the red920 looks sexy next to the black 808/n9

  17. arorak says:

I love my red 920 but damn AT&T version doesn’t come with the headset.
I am trying the new apple’s earpod.

  18. D Harries says:

Does it have stereo speakers, or is one of the grills just a dummy?

  19. incognito says:

Why are the 808PV, the N9 and the Lumia 900 triple-teaming the Lumia 920 on the twelfth picture? The whole photo shoot looks like a cheesy porn shoot – first the redhead slowly wakes up, gets out of bed, tries a string but decides to go commando, then she’s fondled a bit until she sees the black chubby dude in the distance which gets her glowing, then they play a little until joined by the two athletic dudes (that escalated quickly™), which leaves the Lumia 920 positively glowing. The white dude, being late to the party, then decides to give it another go solo… We didn’t see the ending, as this is just a teaser, for a full shoot you need to pay a hefty sum…

And now you too can’t shake off that ‘image’ from your mind. What’s read cannot be unread :P

  20. Amey Nerkar says:

The 808 looks supreme in matte black, the glossy 920 looks so plasticky in front of it

  21. Atul Sharma says:

    Lumia in red is awesome
