Video: Awesome Nokia Lumia 920 Promo from Nokia China – Making of the 920
During the announcement of the Nokia Lumia 920 in September, Nokia showed off the intricate layering of components that went inside the Nokia Lumia 920. It looked great. It’s a shame that Nokia hasn’t produced a half decent promo for the 920 since. Well, I’m quite pleased with what I’m seeing in the promo video below.
I can’t read Mandarin, but you can see it explains what certain features are, rather than their haphazard arty nonsense videos. Like, come on, seriously Nokia Advertising People, how are consumers meant to buy your product if they don’t know what it does?
It might be a tad long for a tv commercial/advert but it could totally work in 30s to 1minute clips where they shorten down to focus on just one feature. Bit of the destruction/construction sequence to show the coolness inside and then show it in action.

The 920, 820 and 620 can also be seen together at the end.

Nice ad
Damn impressed.
Yeah, very good Nokia China.
Oh my god, we’re doomed! Now the Chinese can even out-do the western world with marketing. This has to be one of the best ads I’ve ever seen for a Nokia device. Focusing on all of the unique features and skipping over all that stuff we take for granted like making phones calls, using Facebook (not in China, obv.) etc. Everything that makes the 920 special is there. The stuff that all the other WP8 devices do is taken for granted. It’s a Nokia Lumia ad, not a WP8 ad. Very good indeed.
Reminds me a bit of that N900 transformer add, where the Japanese chick puts down the phone and it turns into a robot.
Really liked that ad, this one is cool too.
What people haven’t realized is that the assembly part of the ad was a part of the 920 launch video shown on stage.
Now change chinese to all the languages and there you have a good marketing campain
Very good indeed!
Ha, bet you foreigner could never come to grasp what that”焕” in “焕Lumia”, the piece of text in the end of the ad, is all about.:D
Can you explain it a bit for us the foreigners?
Lumia means something in Mandarin, huh? What is that then?
A clever word play indeed, not only gives hints for the meaning of “Lumia”, but nicely fits into the mood of the video… very Chinese
The only problem nokia have is they cant advertise there products proply, they have to tell the consumer thru simple adverts that this is the most advance mobile phone in the world (nokia lumia 920)the way apple has doing for years now Samsung has started doing it too.tell us nokia E.g – Clear black,1080p,wireless charging, low light pics, richer sounds recording,32gb,4.7inch screen, nokia maps, nokia music, nokia city, lens, nokia drive, nokia smart shoot. & it works with gloves on! The nokia lumia 920 is a amazing phone, but that’s the problem right ther.Nokia start advertising propyl. Then normal ppl will think twice before buying a iphone!!! Then they will say wait a minute my iphone doznt do that even tho I paid £600.What the hell!
correction: L920 has a 4.5 inch screen not 4.7 inches
This is the only usable ad for the Lumia.
The Westerners who are supposed to be more advanced in stuff like this can’t even come up with something half brilliant like this. So no. Nokia will go down because they don’t know how to advertise their awesome Lumia 920. Another opportunity wasted. Oh my gosh I want to slap each one of them responsible for useless Lumia ads they show in the US except for J. Alba’s ad because I think it’s effective.
That Chinese character is “switch”
not true
