Lumia 620 Hits Chinese Stores; Priced at $320

The Lumia 620; the cheapest WP8 device available has just hit Chinese retailers, appearing at TMall and 360Buy (Chinese Inline Retailers) as in stock and ready to ship. The phone is priced at 1999 yuan/320 USD; which should probably go down a bit more once the phone is officially available through carriers (in the official press release they stated it would cost $248 in some countries). The 620 is supposed to be a huge hit in China and India once it launches full throttle so we’ll wait and see how that goes.

” which should probably go down a bit more once”
??
Seems a tad pricey to me, but still good.
“The Lumia 620; the cheapest WP8 device available”
.. from Nokia maybe, but not generally – the HTC 8S is significantly less expensive.
Ya, but it’s an HTC 8S that isn’t made by Nokia. The build quality and exclusive apps and features that the 8s are missing more than makes the price difference acceptable. The 8s will also look like garbage after a year, the 620 brand new at any time with its cornocopia of interchangable shells. The 8S has nothing over the 620, unless you want to use your 8S as a shim to level your table or chair.
the 620 is still cheaper than the 8S…
Today, Nokia Lumia 620 aslo available in Vietnam.
270$ would b perfect for india
Ali, no they didn’t.
You forgot the excluding the taxes and subsidies part:
“Estimated at USD 249, excluding taxes and subsidies, the Nokia Lumia 620 will begin selling in January 2013 in Asia, followed closely by Europe and the Middle East before expanding further.”
Still $320 seems a bit more for 620.
it will go down in 2 months. they all do
That’s what I could never understand. Why to overprice and cheat the most loyal customers. Keep the price appropriate and continue to sell for that price for long time. So that nobody will feel cheated.
They launced 808 in India for around 34000 INR. Still few people bought it(including me) though it has priced ridiculously high considering the poor internals. After few days of launch, the price dropped to 25000 INR.
I guess they think it’s fun to cheat the most loyal customers who preorder and buy at the earliest.
That’s why I would suggest to not buy a Nokia phone within 2-3 months of it’s launch. Let them learn a lession(My suggestion is for those people who can’t get a handset for free or negligible price on contract).
Not avaible in Turkey, but I think Nokia should sell it here too,820 And 920 avaible but little expensive for average customer,620 would be great.
i think the price is quite reasonable for the device.. Being with the latest wp 8 and with dual core and some other stuff too.. $300 would have been perfect anyway!
in viet nam .noklia lumia 620 just only 270usd
How many ppl in Vietnam have 270$ to spend on a phone?
