Rumours: Nokia Lumia 720 (Codename: Zeal) and Nokia Lumia 520 (Fame) specs? 5 Nokia Devices for MWC?
Just a couple of rumours for you from a couple of different sources that wanted to remain anonymous. Take these as merely speculation than anything concrete.
The first source (from a couple of weeks ago) said there’d be 5 Nokia devices announced at MWC (note ‘devices’ not just phones?).
A second source had this to say about the recently outed Nokia Lumia 720 and 520:
The Lumia 720 codenamed Zeal and Lumia 520 codenamed Fame is definitely a confirmed WP 8 devices.Lumia 720 will have 4.3″ CBD, 1Ghz Dual-core, 512Mb RAM, 8GB storage, HSPA+, WP8, microSD, 6MP camera and 2MP front cameraLumia 520 will have 4″ Super Sensitive screen, 1Ghz Dual-core, 512Mb RAM, 8GB storage, microSD, WP8, 5MP with no front camera.
That’s a very powerful 5xx range indeed IF TRUE… If the 620 was loved for delivering features on price, then what more of the 520 (with an even bigger screen?)
Cheers anonymous sources.

i need 720 with 4″ screen
3 nokia lumia devices ( 520 , 720 and 1000 )
and maybe a tablet with one asha phone or two asha phone if the tablet is not annouced
520 shoud have front camera… Anway i’ll buy my first lumia 800 or 900 then lumia 820 or 920 , is a little spencive here in mozambique, but may be in jun the price get lower.. Sorry my english.lol i’m new here.
If you wan’t a FFC surely just get a 620?
I personally have never once used a FFC so don’t see what all the fuss is about, but obviously that’s not the case for many.
It will make me happy if 720 is just like the 620 but rather with AMOLED (hoping for the “always on clock” and the “Sleeping Screen” apps) and 1GB RAM. Wireless charging covers will be great too. Everything else can remain the same. Price can be a $50 more than the 620.
Also, Nokia should push Microsoft to quickly enable the FM transceiver functionality as well.
yep ..no fm now ..waitin …to c if the appolo updat brings it
totally agree.
620 size, better display, 1 GB Ram (and maybe fullHD cam plus 1.5 Ghz CPU) would be great.
basically a smaller 820.
anyone thinks these 520 specs don’t make any sense? where exactly are they making the cuts?
+1
I suppose if Nokia opped for mediatek chipsets, prices could be significantly lowered?
hell no
Not all cortex a7 are born equal… Mediatek and the likes have proved that plenty of times.
no front facing cam? plus I read about 4 GB memory somewhere. and that wopuld make a difference

the 520 specs make no sense. we know that the ”flame” will go to t-mobile in the u.s and it will have the same specs as the 620, that means it will only be a variant of the 620 and not something that will stand out.
the 720 is kinda weird. i would have hopped that it has 4 inch screen, amoled, and whatever the frequency of the processor a gig of ram. a 4.3 inch screen makes it too close to the 820.
somehow i don’t trust these sources. the english is pretty bad, all these specs have been rumoured for some time, and the timing is convenient, right after the leak with the 3 devices from china 520,720 and 1000. i call bullshit
could the 720 be the slim looking device, the pics of which leaked earlier? then again, that model looked more like say a 830 could look like (or even a 9xx series).
one needs to keep in mind that these models may roll out in a phased way and/or as carrier exclusives so there may be less overlap at the local store/market at any given than just looking at the model numbers and whole line up might suggest.
Well the 510 seems to be a stop-over until Nokia could release a super low-end WP8 device so I guess it’ll be the same as the 510 but with the higher specs of WP8 devices.
if 720 has 1G ram im Fully in
Lumia 720 with 512MB RAM makes absolutely no sense.. In the past all Lumia 6xx vs 7xx had twice the amount of RAM, so Lumia 720 should have 1GB RAM! With 512MB some apps just don’t run..
720 to have a 6mp cam? 1st time ive heard about a 6mp. Isnt it usually 2mp, 3.2mp, 5mp, 8mp, 12mp, 13mp, 16mp and ofcource 41mp!
isn’t it useless to release a myriad of similar phones? In the old days Nokia was releasing lots of phone models too but at least they had different form factors.
no they didn’t, not always or even most of the time. there are many Symbian models that had basically exactly the same internals.
at least now some of the models are tailored to a particular countries’ or carriers’ wishes.
not talking about internals but form factors. I vaguely remember seeing symbian running on slabs, candibars, flipout, slide, with t9, half or full keyboards…
I don’t see the same variety now. Yet another example of windows phone constraining innovation?
To some extent yes (no landscape mode)but more about where the market is at. Dell Pro shows that they could release a portrait Qwerty slider any time they wanted. A flip phone would also likely be possible easily.
Thats true. It seems like different form factors have died. Its all slab with touch screen
Whatever happened to that guy who spoke about the staring wheel and cars. Where is the innovation? I can tell u one ting for sure, innovation is not in replaceable 3d printed covers.
Im disappointed
This is why Nokia should’ve put a 1280×768 screen in the 820. The 720 could then fit in nicely but now it seems awkward.
super sensitive screen for 520??n for 720??!
Will they ever learn too many devices just competing against each other. Mad desperate attempt to hit any price point.
We have
620
820
920
Plus 510,610,710, 800, 900
And now we have possibly 520, 720
Thats currently 8 models with 2 or 3 more possibly to come.
This is just bad management.
To repeat my comment above:
One needs to keep in mind that these models may [OR, actually, WILL] roll out in a phased way and/or as carrier exclusives so there may [OR, actually, WILL] be less overlap at the local store/market at any given than just looking at the model numbers and whole line up might suggest.
Carrier exclusives suck. Nokia is again pandering to the pernicious networks. All in all it becomes confusing for the customer.
Samsung may have many phones but their clear seller is the Galaxy s3 galaxy Note. These devices are clear in peoples minds when it comes to buying a phone.
I guess samsung is in a bettert position to negotiate
yes but it took a while for samsung to have the s3 and note on all the carriers unmodified. i mean with the previous generation they didn’t have the power.as soon as sales started growing, the power came to have the same device everywhere. and even so, their midrange devices are full of variations for the carriers
Tell that to Samsung, they have over 100 different Galaxy models.
no. they need the diversity they had with symbian, and the diversity samsung now has. they need to reach every price point and devices catering to specific regions. of course that devices like the 920,620 and 820 will be universal, but they also need other offerings too.
in a way i think that is why htc is doing so bad. the one x suprisingly had very good sales, around 30 million devices sold.with the rest of the one series that number could be close to 60 million. but they don’t make large profits cause they don’t have a strong or large portofolio of devices to compete with samsung, who has it seems the same strategy nokia had in the glory days
Fake specifications…
you can see it here

Hmm yes , 520 specs do sound like a bit much at this price point . if true , how r Nokia and MS going to justify this profit wise ?
