Someone by the name of “Nacho Pop” appears in this Nokia Australia promo for Cinemagraph. He’s supposed to be a choreographer.

Does it capture the uniqueness of Cinemagraph? Erm, not really. I don’t get what happened in between seeing what they filmed, to the guy below  being the main thing to watch to what was sent over the phone which turned out to be what? Some guy spinning in a loop? I guess it might not be too clear that everyone else in the background is standing still. Why? Did this advert show how the cinemagraph was made? Did it accentuate the movement of the people in the background? What on earth was Nacho Pop doing dance wise anyways? Who makes concepts for Nokia Australia? Is this Amazing Everyday Australia again?

Seriously what’s going on?

Looks like Nokia’s learnt from the OIS thing. This is a BAD illustration only demo.

What exactly was the “moment” you created? Couldn’t it have been more exciting, something that actually uses a unique point of Cinemagraph’s looping gif with editable portions function? Perhaps spinning continuously on their head or in the air if they were doing some ‘tricking’?

Seriously, look at this. The second half of it.

Nokia Australia seemed too focus on getting a dude called “Nacho Pop” in their video and lost sight of the fact they were meant to show off Cinemagraph.

This one, they make some bits that should move (like the water) static.  It’s only a demo, and not even an advert but this was a much more interesting cinemagraph than the one showed in the advert.

This is from the official Nokia channels. It’s labelled cinemagraph but you barely see cinemagraph. It’s part of their arty-farty style where you have no idea what feature they’re trying to promote. I guess this is where Nokia Australia gets their inspiration from. Adverts that have NO SUBSTANCE.
