China Unicom has launched the Nokia Lumia 520 at 1298 yuan (206USD). China Unicom has at least 125M mobile subscribers (since 2008). China Mobile (currently) has over 700M. However, the latest figures for 3G subscribers (2012) show that they’re fairly close, 79M for China Mobile, and 70M for China Unicom.

With 90M WCDMA in expected sales, China Unicom is looking to grow their 3G subscriber base even more this year. Their 3.5G network currently ropes in 21mB/s speed, apparently triple the level of 3G from China Mobile and China Telecom.

China Mobile is also expected to get the Nokia Lumia 520 (and 720)
