Lumia 720 Vs. 920 low Light Comparison, Insane Results from the 720!

| April 5, 2013 | 15 Replies

Quick! 2 seconds! Which picture from the two above was taken by the 720, and which by the 920? Wrong! Crazy as it is but that pretty looking, well colored one on top was taken by the 720, while the over exposed one on the bottom is the result of its big brother the 920. That’s thanks to the Lumia 720′s impressive f/1.9 aperture which lets in a crazy amount of light, even in the darkest of conditions. Just look at the Lumia 720 vs the HTC one in the video below:

thy are both good but the 720 has clearer image in zooming than the htc
    and more light in image

Wow! Have to see this for myself.

I like the one in the bottom better…, it is better processed and of course it let you see more than you see with your own eyes, but if the sensor is so good, then there is no way to avoid these things, it’s kind of hawk eyes. So you get a brightest image than you can see.

    I don’t think is overexposed.

My opinion and taste apart, the one taken by the 720 is pretty good as well. The only thing I don’t like is the flares coming out from the street lights. But being the medium child in the family it is better than expected.

The flares are slight oil smudges on the lenses.

The 920 have more details though. but kudos for the great result, it was a bit unexpected.

i can’t wait to show off the 920 camera to friends

    • dss

Just don’t show it to friends that have seen or own an 808.. they might not be impressed much.

Will do so too once I get the Portico update. Speaking of which, Nokia Malaysia already started rolling out both the Portico and the .1308 update together on Tuesday instead of waiting till mid-April. Hopefully I’ll get it soon as they mentioned that it is rolling out in batches and waiting for operator approval.

the 720 has a really impressive camera, but as big brother the 920 did good :)

  • Zhi

And the 720 has an even better Front Facing Camera… :O

    • Valerio

i’m the one who took those 2 pictures in the article, i have compared even the front facing camera from 720 and 920! they both have same view angle (exatly the same) but the 920 seems to take a little more light!

      • Wychoong

Is the lumia920 on portico update?

And there’s no way to transfer that algorithm to the 920? I, too, would prefer darker, more realistically looking pictures.

      Sadly, i agree :(

The Lumia 720 keeps the vibe.
