Timelapse, a favourite activity of mine since the old Symbian keyboard phone days, and they’re still as fascinating as ever.

You might have seen some from the Nokia 808 PureView. Here’s a really good tutorial and set of samples on how to make your own timelapse by Olivier Noirhomme.

Using the 38MP mode on the 808 means you have a lot of detail to play with. This helps when adding movement such as zooming or possibly even panning.

You basically want to capture interesting movement/changes that are difficult to see in real time. E.g. movement of the sun, changing from night to day, the filling of snow, opening of a flower bud etc. Experiment with timing intervals.

Pay attention to white balance and exposure as you’ll notice this a lot if they’re not consistent.

Alternatively there are apps that do this.

Cheers Alvester for the tip!
