Nokia+logo,+Helsinki,+Finland+87570According to the latest source of rumors via NokiaPoweruser there are a couple new devices on the way for a September/October announcement/release. Mainly two phablet Lumias, starting with a 5.5″-6″ screen with a camera module similar to the Lumia 925, the next generation of which would have a higher Megapixel camera and a Lytro (adjustable focus) setup.

The other device is said to be a cheaper version of the lumia 920; aimed to compete against a lower end iPhone (if it comes); the rumored specs are:

  • released along with Phablet in September-October, but not necessarily on the same date.
  • Will sport 4.7 inch WXGA CBD AMOLED display.
  • Will have 8 MP Carl–Zeiss optics camera with F/1.9 aperture for low-light imaging. No OIS though.
  • Lumia 720 like design with minor tweaks and may have slimmer profile, Lightweight.
  • May come with similar CPU/GPU combo as Lumia 920 and will be Nokia’s answer to low-cost iPhone.
  • Will be priced very aggressively and will replace Lumia 82X range.

Honestly those specs don’t sound like a “cheaper” Lumia 920, and the whole strategy of the Lumia lineup was to bring down the features of the 920 to lower pricepoints, so a cheaper 920 wouldn’t make much sense. To me it sounds like some of this is wishful thinking but you never know, as always keep your bowl of salt at the ready.
