Samsung Releases Exclusive Folders for Start Screen App; Take Note Microsoft

DSC03264One of the features that users have been clamoring for in the upcoming releases of Windows Phone would have to be a folders option, right alongside the need for a notification center. Surprisingly Samsung are the first to come up with a solution to this situation with their exclusive “App Folder” (for Samsung WPs/Atvis). The app as seen in the image above allows you to add multiple shortcuts to a single tile, allowing you to organize groups of tile functions together.

Interestingly the app doesn’t seem to support including more than 4 tiles in the medium sized tile folder, while you’d only get an extra two apps in using the double wide tile (10 apps rather than 8); I’m sure there’s a slightly more elegant solution as we’ve seen in countless renders before, but once again OEM’s are doing Microsoft’s job. Hopefully we’ll see some sort of filing system included in the WP 8.1 update, but until then it is nice to see that someone other Nokia cares enough to do something about WP.

*If you happen to have a Samsung WP grab the app from over here:
