The Staff Photographer at Laptop Magazine, Jeremy Lips has been playing about with the Nokia Lumia 1020 and has shared some of his top 10 photos.  The one above, he tried to do on the iPhone 5 and an advanced point and shoot, but both paled in comparison to the 1020.

I also tried taking this shot with an advanced point-and-shoot and the iPhone 5, but neither came close to the shot I got with the 1020.

In some shots, you see the power of Zoom Reinvented. You get an amazing pic to begin with, but then you can recompose that shot again and again.

Cheers That guy for the tip!

Lumia 1020 is so bad that… it’s almost not Mediocre.

…… but the 808 would have captured noise free photos …….

      • Janne

Obviously. With its shutter closed inside a tin-foil bag.

You do realize some people don’t always catch your sarcasm? Some people who visit this site for the 1st time will actually think you telling the truth.

Any community has its inside jokes.

        Obviously I was being sarcastic.

It starts getting complicated when you get sarcastic about sarcasm

  • That Yankee stadium image is AMAZING!

I wonder what HDR would look like taken with 1020

    • D Harries

Actually, I’ve gone off some HDR photos when they look artificial. Much prefer natural shots of light and shadow

Carefully taken, HDR can produce very natural pictures. The problem with HDR is that some users use it in everything. Therefore, the results are not pretty. HDR captures the same frame at different exposure levels, if correctly used, you can have images that stay very true to the scene yo appreciate with your eyes.

I lost the respect to laptopmag when they posted ” The Lumia 1020 is a Windows Phone 8 device with a 4.7-inch and a 41-megapixel shooter connected to a 6x optical zoom.” and they said the Galaxy Zoom screen was better than the 1020’s!
