MS replacing WP physical back button with on screen version. Why not all the buttons!

According to TheVerge, MS is NOT removing the physical back button but instead will be replacing it with an on screen version. The back button is somewhat essential to WP’s UI (well its current state anyway). I like having that consistent back button there, though it could equally be as useful were there an on screen equivalent that’s also permanently present (versus say some other OSes where the back button could be in a myriad of places).

Interestingly, our readers are pretty much in a 50/50 split as to wanting the buttons there or to be replaced with on screen/gestures. Actually, it tips over 51% to keep the buttons there.

Another reason perhaps to remove all these buttons? Well there were some stories of MS approaching Sammy and HTCpasta about dual-boot Android/WP devices. Without, say, the WP physical buttons, it might be easier to implement completely on screen choices for Android or WP.

Physical buttons or no physical buttons, I just want something consistent.
