RAW DNG vs JPEG on Nokia Lumia 1020

Screen Shot 2013-12-23 at 16.43.50A couple of great reads at AAWP and Pocketnow, looking into the RAW .DNG shooting capabilities of the Nokia Lumia 1020.

With .dng files, you can choose how to process the pictures. e.g. Oversampling to 5mp can make the noise pretty much disappear.

Whilst the 5MP samples from the 1020 are great and even better with Lumia black, shooting RAW means the enthusiast can take the full potential from the sensor (without waiting for Nokia to solve the image processing).

Cheers Alvester for the tip!
