Another announcement at the Microsoft press conference was the fact that the popular app (on other platforms) for Facebook messaging will soon be arriving on WP8. Of course the Facebook app, as well as the Messaging hub both support FB chat (although the messaging hub hasn’t been working for me for the past 12 hours or so), but the official facebook app has a lot more features, such as stickers support, direct delivery to users, sending voice records and much more. Plus it’s also a standalone app for quicker loading.

Apparently Microsoft have been working with Fb to develop this app, in contrast to the Facebook (and Facebook Beta) which mostly by Microsoft:

“We’ve been working with Facebook testing out their implementation for a while,” he said. ”It’s looking good and we will have it for our customers soon.”

The arrival of this app might have something to do with the rumored removal of the social network integration from WP8.1, and would make a great companion app for the new “facebook blue”.

Either way good to hear!
