eeePC! I haven’t heard that name in ages. The netbook king before tablet killed off netbooks.

Anyway, check it out here booting WP8.1.  It’s interesting to see both panels (start screen, app menu) on the same screen.  That’s more an artefact. Only the ‘left’ side behaves as you’d expect. The right menu list sort of jitters. You can only see that menu list when you switch to the left.

Specs of the ASUS:

  • 512MB
  • 7″ display
  • 800 x 480 TFT
  • Intel Celeron M 353 / 630.0 MHz

As with the rumours, the new resolutions were also seen (see forum comments). qHD (960×540) and QHD (2560×1440).

The latter resolution will be very interesting to see in future products. Perhaps not directly in the product screen themselves but maybe when it outputs the display (e.g. projection over WiFi or USB?).

On a Samsung NC-10

Cheers Alvester for the tip!
