Oppo leak to possible challenge PureView’s 41MP camera with 50MP. But will sensor be big enough?

Over at GSMArena, they have a leaked image of the new Oppo Find 7, which as well as having an insane 2560×1440 display might also feature a PureView rivalling 50MP Camera. Now it was Nokia themselves that said it’s not all about the MP. The 808 and 1020 have the biggest MP but also the largest sensors in a mobile phone camera. The real test is to see if Oppo can even come remotely close to Nokia.

There’s an image at GSMArena indicating the 8160×6120 shot to be taken by the Oppo. It’s difficult to discern, especially when viewing from mobile. There’s also said to be a 8mp oversampled option.

I have a sad feeling if this device is true, we’d see it marketed much better than Nokia on the 1020, i.e. Unique zooming, zoom to enhance movie jokes etc.

I wonder what Nokia has to counter this? Something else to smash the MP race again?
