I thought there was something up with Ali’s image, thinking this was a squashed or stretched Nokia JBL Play-up speaker but no, it’s the all new Nokia MD-12.

To win one, leave a ‘creative comment’ at NokConv.

NokConv says that although it is small, it packs a lot of bass. It accentuates the bass depending on what surface it’s on. It reminds me of an old accessory we demoed a couple years back, the PocketBoom, though this one isn’t 100% reliant on being stuck to something to make a sound.

With a built-in vibrating actuator located on the base, low frequencies (read: heavy bass) are created when placed on most surfaces, especially hard ones, delivering a surprising amount of bass for such a compact speaker- in fact, it’s rather fun experimenting with different surfaces

There’s 15 hours battery life and you can tap and connect by NFC. It’ll cost 39 euros and is available in yellow, green, orange and white.

Now questions: Can you pair up like the Play 360? Is there a hidden cord containing a 3.5mm male to male jack for wired connections?
