DSC04712Nokia has announced a product advisory warning for the AC-300 EU/UK charger for the Lumia 2520. The Ac-300 is the European variant of the Lumia 2520 charger which can apparently pose a risk of electrocution if some components wear down.

“While there have been no confirmed consumer incidents related to this potential quality issue, product quality and safety are top priorities at Nokia,” said Jo Harlow, EVP Smart Devices. “We apologize to the owners of the Lumia 2520, and we are working with urgency to minimize the inconvenience.”

Although this is a product advisory, Nokia have not yet announced a recall or anything else; meaning that users don’t have to worry; but be cautious if your charger shows signs of wear.

We have temporarily delayed the sales of the Lumia 2520 tablet and the travel charger accessories, including the AC-300 chargers in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia, Switzerland and UK. In the US, we have suspended sales of the travel charger accessory.

For now Nokia have halted sales of the 2520/Chargers in some parts of europe, as this affects 30,000 devices (I assume that’s the number of 2520’s sold outside the US?). You can read the full details at the link below; but for now Nokia recommend to stop using the charger (and effectively your tablet) until the issue is resolved.
