Weekend Watch: Home automation with Cortana – controlling lights

Take a look at the video below where you see Cortana taking control of a lamp. Cortana is connected to a netduino.

When a voice says, “it’s a bit too dark in here” or “it’s too bright”, Cortana switches the lights on and off respectively.

It would be great when Cortana, like Xbox, always listens (i.e. no button pressing). That’s in the pipeline, turning it a bit more like the Star Trek computer.
