MyDreamNokia: Lumia 1820 – Microsoft Mobile Concept

| May 31, 2014 | 8 Replies

Advertisements Edgar Mkrtchyan shares this concept of the Nokia Lumia 1820. Sadly, going with the times this one omits the Nokia logo despite the name. It’s less Lumia, more Surface phone in design. Hi Here’s a little concept after the acquisition of Nokia by Microsoft, I joined the bar on the side as in windows […]

Whatsapp v2.11.490.0 with Chat Backgrounds, custom tones and more

| May 31, 2014 | 4 Replies

WhatsApp only just automatically updated about an hour ago on my Nokia Lumia 1520. It did mention that some features were not compatible with my version of Windows (on 8.1 dev preview). With regards to the notification tones, it seems I cannot access the custom ones. Perhaps that’s the limitations in the dev preview? Advertisements

Dear MNB Readers, When updating the Display app by Nokia this morning, I noticed that the Publisher was no longer Nokia Corporation but rather Microsoft Mobile Oy. Video: 20MP fight – Nokia Lumia 1520 vs Sony Xperia Z2

Bharadwaj compares Sony’s Flagship Camera Phone against Nokia’s High end Phablet. It’s not the 41MP 1020 or 808 but it still packs a powerful 20MP punch. The original Honami/Z1 was meant to bury the 1020 but couldn’t even manage the 1520. How would it’s successor do? I’ve got to admit, Sony is taking some decent […]

ITV Player finally joins BBC and Channel 4 in bringing Catchup to WP8

| May 29, 2014 | 1 Reply

ITV Player joins BBC and Channel 4 with WP8 apps. From the screenshots, it looks decent, like they’ve made an effort for the Metro/Modern Panoramic UI. As a version 1, it doesn’t seem to have the dynamic bandwidth feature of the new BBC iPlayer whereby it can let you watch automatically in lower quality if […]

British Cortana Coming Soon? WP UK teases Cortana on UK Nokia Lumias.

| May 29, 2014 | 2 Replies

Windows Phone UK tweeted that Cortana would be available in the UK soon. Will she still have her Halo persona and voice or will she sound British, like the British TellMe counterparts? I’m looking forward to having the UK version. Cortana has changed the way I use the bing button from something that is used […]

Video: An app for every moment – #appyDays

This slightly nauseating video is an app highlight for WP8. Basically, the app on the phone screen gets shown in a real life situation. Shazam for music (followed by a club scene) or Viber to organize a group of people to meet up for example. I feel like I’m missing something that these guys are […]
