For those who want to try the Jolla Sailfish experience on their Android, the Community Alpha will be available next week.

This means trying the ‘smooth Sailfish OS’ experience simply, and risk free.

You get a gesture based Swipe UI and highlights of essential tools that make Sailfish stand out.

It’s intended for Nexus 4/5 handsets but those with Android 4.3 and higher can try this too.

Instructions on getting involved:

  1. Send an email to jolla-launcher@jolla.com from your Google account – the email address is just to register and keep you informed. It will be removed from the database after the community alpha ends.
  2. Include the following information: your name, and which device(s) your using
  3. Wait to receive the Google Play installation link and further instructions
  4. Deadline is June 27
  5. Please be willing to give feedback at  together.jolla.com
