Old Nokia – the part Microsoft didn’t buy, has launched the Nokia Z Launcher for Android. BGR praises it as being shockingly innovative.

Nokia Z takes the approach of taking away from the screen to give more to the user by displaying just the key items.

Nokia Z constantly learns and evolves based on usage patterns, from the frequency of apps to the time of day used.  Then it intuitively displays what you’re most likely to use.

Other content can be achieved from just a few swipes away. Sound familiar? You can swipe the shape of a letter to get those apps to appear on the launcher. Web searches can be performed in a similar way too.

Could Nokia have differentiated from the rest of the Android pack with something like this?
